Prix fixe lovers rejoice! Detroit Restaurant Week starts this Friday, but you can get an early start by coming out to Mosaic Restaurant in Greektown for the official kick off event on Thursday.
The ‘Drinks & Appetizers with DRW’ party starts at 5 pm and will treat guests to complimentary appetizers and drink specials. The best thing about it for you budget conscious Detroit girls is that there is no cost to attend the event. Of course though, that means you should arrive early!
I went to the first kickoff event for DRW in September 2009 and was excited about having such a delicious event in Detroit. The idea is that you can experience the city’s finest three-course meals from the city’s finest restaurants over a 10-day period for just $28.
This year, the restaurants are even offering wine pairings at special prices to go with their prix fixe menus. If there is a place you have wanted to check out but never thought it was (ahem) affordable, now is the time to go. What better way to celebrate the city and support the local economy than by indulging in great food and wine at the same time?
Here are the participating restaurants:
Andiamo Detroit Riverfront
Atlas Global Bistro
Da Edoardo Foxtown Grille
Detroit Seafood Market
Forty-Two Degrees North
Wolfgang Puck Grille
